Properties :
Pramoxine HCl ( Pramocaine HCl ) : is a local anaesthetic used for surface anaesthesia , for the relief of pain and itching associated with ear infections .
Hydrocortisone : is a corticosteroid , it is used as anti inflammatory and antipruritic .
Chloroxylenol : is a chlorinated phenolic antiseptic wich is bacericidal against most Gram-
Positive bacteria .
Indications:
Otecort is used in the ear to treat pain associated with ear infections .
Precautions :
If symptoms do not improve within a few days or if they become worse check with your doctor .
Should discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during Pregnancy .
In nursing mothers , this medicine should be used under physician consultation , to discuss
the risks to baby Should not be used if there is a perforated ear drum or allergies .
Side effects :stinging , itching , or burning in the ear .
If they continue , inform your doctor and If you notice other effects not listed above , contact your docter .
To use ear drops Lie down or tilt your head so that the affected ear faces up .
For adults gently pull the earlobe up and back to straighten the ear canal .
For children gently pull the earlobe down and back to straighten the ear canal .
Drop the medicine into the ear canal . If you have difficulty keeping this medicine in Your ear , ask your doctor about using a clean cotton plug in your ear .
Dosage :
Apply (1-3) drops into the affected ear ( 3-4) times daily .
